The Story

The Keraleeya Samajam, Andheri (West) is the dream come true for more than 400
families from Kerala settled in Andheri West, Mumbai, who came together to celebrate
Onam, the Harvest Festival of Kerala in 2003, 2004 and 2005 to have a continued socio-
cultural forum to bear and share togetherness.
The first meeting of the Proposed Samajam was held on 30 October 2005 at St. Mary’s
School, Mhada, Four Bungalows, Andheri West. A Provisional Committee of seven
members was formed in the meeting. Shri. P.M Sethumadhavan was elected as the
President, Unni Menon as the Secretary, Shri. P. Ramachandran as the Treasurer and S.
Shri. Anil R. Nair, K. K. Raja, T. L. Varghese and K. B. Sasidharan Nair as the Members.
The Samajam is highly indebted to the other initial enthusiasts who worked for the
formation of the Samajam especially S. Shri. E. Ramankutty Nair, V.C.M. Namboodiri, C.
Ravi, Narayanankutty, Sunderesan Iyer, C. Prabhakaran, Late Shri. P.A. Kumarji and Late
Shri. E.Sreedharan.
The meeting decided on the registered address of the Samajam as Flat No. 16/A/001,
Girnar, Swami Samarth Nagar, Lokhandwala Complex, Andheri West, Mumbai-400 053.
The meeting presented and agreed on a draft byelaw for the proposed Samajam.
The Keraleeya Samajam, Andheri (West) duly got registered under Societies
Registration Act 1860 bearing number MS/MUM/1481/06/200/G.B.B.S.D. dated
23.06.2006 and under Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 bearing No. F-31141 (Mum) dated
